Sweet Home Alabama

I have been in Montgomery Alabama since monday, and I am finally getting used to the humidity here. Apart from the tornado warning on Tuesday, the weather has been pretty nice, staying for the most part between 70 and 80 degrees. I haven't seen too much of the city itself yet, but we should be getting around to the tourist areas downtown soon.

The wife started her job at the Alabama Shakespeare festival almost immediately upon landing, and is really enjoying the work. She is a cutter and draper here which is a step up from the stitcher position she held at OSF, and she finds that it is much more enjoyable. This is encouraging her to consider taking another job offer that is year round but in southern California. (I may talk about this in a later post)

The Festival put us up in a nice apartment really close to the theatre. It has AC, cable, a balcony, and an alarm system. It is also fully furnished, which is nice. They also gave us a rental car while we are here. I don't think that we will want to give the car up when we leave, as it is a 2008 pontiac g6 gt with satellite radio and OnStar. It is a very cool car I may talk about later as well.

Apart from that, no real news so far. As we see what the south has to offer, I will try to post pictures and stories about what we see. I am lobbying for a day trip to Florida, we'll see how that turns out.

This post is not as detailed as the one I had typed out before. I did not realize that the only place I get steady internet is the balcony, and hit submit while I was not connected. It was lost, I was frustrated, and I didn't want to type it all out again.

Alright. We are bored again. We get bored easily.....especially when people are used to the constant posting that occurs on my site! You always say you will write more about things later but then you forget! I hope your didn't miss the new "Paris Hilton my new BFF" episode tonight!

Tornados

We had all sorts of tornado warnings when we were in Sacramento of all places. We had one touch down and was wrecking cars and buildings etc about 7 miles from our house in Roseville. It was at least 3 or 4 times a year we had one and every time I'd go outside to try to see the funnel clouds or tornados (depending on if it touched down or not) but unfortunately I never saw anything.

**Update / Afterthought*** We even had a tornado touch down by the base here in Fallon this year. Also That year in Sac we had more tornado activity that year than all of tornado alley combined. **GASP** Al Gore was right!
