I realize I haven't posted in quite a while. Give me 2 months, I will at least make an effort to write something worth reading.
I was thinking about this video the other day on the bus. It appears that the bus company has had some problems with a bus or two, so occasionally they will be driving a chartered bus. This happened yesterday and I got really pissed off about the fact that I couldn't get onto the internet on the way home using my laptop. I could still use the internet using my phone, but I wanted to log in to the linux machine at home and do a little work on the scripting project I have going. For the record, I am typing this on the bus right now, so I am happy again.
We are leaving Alabama on Sunday morning. We have to leave Montgomery by about 4:00 am in order to get to Birmingham on time so I am not looking forward to the trip as much as I normally would. I really like flying, but as anyone who knows me can attest, I am not at all a morning person. I guess we are getting into Reno at about noon, which according to my math, means there will be quite a long layover somewhere. maybe I will knock out an entry from the airport.
I have been in Montgomery Alabama since monday, and I am finally getting used to the humidity here. Apart from the tornado warning on Tuesday, the weather has been pretty nice, staying for the most part between 70 and 80 degrees. I haven't seen too much of the city itself yet, but we should be getting around to the tourist areas downtown soon.
My first full week of work is over and I am now staring down monday and not looking forward to it. I will write more about the mine later. I had several paragraphs written out before the internet went out and I lost interest. I leave you with a picture of where I work. The red building on the left is where I spend most of my work time shoveling rocks and sweeping dirt. It doesn't look like it. but it is over 6 stories tall.

Apparently the spam bots have all decided that my site was the one to post their info on, so I am changing some of the rules of the site. All of the posts and comments will still be visible to everyone, but in order to post comments, you will have to register and log in.
A perk to registering, however, is you will be able to set up your own blog on the site if you want to. You will also be able to upload pictures and link to them if you need to have them posted on other sites or messageboards.
The new phone is back ordered. That makes me a sad panda.
UPDATE: Shipped
I am finally back at school, currently I am sitting in the computer lab waiting for my Computer Science class. As I am going to be spending quite a while on campus between classes every day, expect more regular posting here.
I am taking 3 classes, or 12 credits, this term. The classes are math, computer programming and world cultures, so I don't expect to have to work real hard during the next 9 weeks, but we will see.
I recently broke a rule that I made for myself after purchasing my Motorola mpx200 and bought a non-smartphone. I bought a Samsung A707 yesterday, and it is turning out to be an excellent phone. it is solid, compact, and fairly easy to use. I am having a bit of trouble getting it set up to check my e-mail, but when I do, it will be my primary e-mail tool as well as my phone.
